AI in wealth management now reaches across the client lifecycle, from reading statements and analyzing portfolios to drafting proposals, review materials and client emails. What separates the tools is the data the AI can see and who approves the work.

What firms run into

Where AI in wealth management stalls.

AI pilots stall when the tool can’t see the client data, adds another system, or leaves the CCO out.

Notetakers stop at the transcript.

They sync notes into your CRM through integrations, while the holdings, models and past proposals live in other systems. The proposal and the review still start from scratch.

Every AI tool is one more system to run.

Separate tools for notes, proposals and email mean more integrations, more vendor reviews and more copies of client data.

Uneven AI use becomes a compliance risk.

Without shared instructions and a review step, output varies by advisor, and your CCO can’t see what went out.

AI for wealth management: what firms ask.

What does AI do in wealth management today?

Most firms start with AI that records meetings and answers questions. The next step is AI that does the client work itself, with a person approving each draft. In Investipal, Alpha reads statements, analyzes portfolios and drafts proposals, reviews and client emails inside the platform that also runs onboarding and billing.

What’s the difference between an AI notetaker and an AI associate?

A notetaker captures the meeting. An AI associate is an AI agent that does the client work around it. Alpha uses meeting notes, statements and portfolio analysis to build proposals, reports, review prep and client emails, and suggests profile updates for the advisor to confirm.

We already use a notetaker. Do we need Alpha?

Keep it. A notetaker records the meeting; Alpha works with the client’s statements, holdings, models and proposals in Investipal. Upload transcripts from any tool, or attach notes from a connected notetaker, and Alpha uses them for the next proposal, review or email.

Does Alpha update our CRM?

No. Alpha suggests profile updates in Investipal for the advisor to confirm. Investipal connects with Wealthbox, Salesforce and Redtail.

Which platforms combine AI, client onboarding, portfolio construction and billing?

Investipal runs proposals, portfolio construction, IPS, onboarding, billing and advisor payouts in one platform, and Alpha, its AI agent, works across them.

How do enterprise wealth firms roll out an AI assistant while the home office controls its instructions and defaults?

Turn it on firm-wide and set the rules centrally. In Investipal, admins switch Alpha on for the firm, set the house style, publish firm skills with checks, add Alpha steps to playbooks and set the monthly AI budget each person gets. Advisors see the firm’s instructions read-only.

What should a CCO check before approving an AI assistant for advisors?

Check six things: whether it can send on its own, who sets its instructions, what checks run on its drafts, whether client email is reviewed before it goes out, whether you can see what it used, and where security is documented. In Investipal, Alpha saves drafts and advisors send; admins set its instructions; firm-wide checks run on every skill draft and show which passed; client email advisors send from Investipal is checked against your policy; each run shows what Alpha read; and security is documented in the Trust Center. For broker-dealers, FINRA Regulatory Notice 24-09 reminds firms that existing rules, including supervision and communications with the public, apply when they use generative AI.

How can an RIA let advisors use AI to draft client emails but require a human review before anything is sent?

In Investipal, Alpha saves client email drafts but can’t send them; the advisor reviews each one and sends it from their connected Gmail. When the firm sets an email policy, client email advisors send from Investipal, including Alpha’s drafts, is checked before it goes out, and flagged messages wait for a compliance officer or go back to the advisor.

Can we create reusable AI skills and playbooks that produce drafts for advisor review?

Yes. A skill saves a recurring assignment, with its brief, sources, template and checks, for one advisor or the whole firm. Add it to a playbook step and the draft goes to a named reviewer; the step completes only when they approve.
